The surprise of Windows 7
Yesterday, I installed Windows 7 on my 3.5 years old notebook. The new harddisk I ordered for it came, that’s why. And because Vista was slow like hell.
Well, Vista booted on it in around 3 minutes, before the harddisk stopped making noise and the PC became usable. The inital firefox start took one more minute.
The new drive isn’t that fast – 60-70 MB/s max (my Desktop PC’s HDD has 120 MB/s average and 150 MB/s max). Despite from this, Windows 7 boots up in 38 seconds – As fast as on my (destroyed) desktop PC!
Windows 7 never cease to surprise me. It’s definitely better than Vista and as fast as (or even faster) than XP.

I tried Windows 7 on my Old notebook from 2001, I noticed : It was alot faster than Vista And XP… This is the first time that Microsoft made a Good Windows Version..
Yes, indeed. They totally made the best Windows so far after XP: The nice look of vista, a better speed than XP and modern technology.
And DX10 for sure xD
EDIT:
Or DX11, i don’t really know anymore..
DX11 on Windows 7.
HOLY SHIT: On my sisters computer, Windows 7 even boots faster. 23 seconds from boot to desktop.
It is a PC from 2004, Asrock 939 Dual Sata II (my old PC) with 2 GB DDR1 and a 1TB Harddrive (same as my current PC).
The funny thing is: Windows 7 does not support this motherboards lan and sound device by default. But I was able to install the Xp64 lan driver (LOL, WHAT?), do a windows update and then download “microsoft driver” for all that. Funny thing. All worked!
Woah, that’s really fast for slow Computers, my notebook boots in 21 seconds (My 2001 Notebook)
And my Old Computer from 2002 boots in 18 seconds…
Holy shit!
depends on HOW you measure the time
I hate my Windows 7. Booting is slow, most of my software doesn’t work and it uses too much Graphics. My Ubuntu VM on Sun VirtualBox Boots in 5 seconds.
@Adam
Now Oracle (faggot) VM VirtualBox
